Great Product

I use this spray for my German Wire Haired Pointer who has atopic/ allergic skin. She has various allergies and this has certainly helped considerably with her itching. I use the spray on her body because it's easier to administer for a dog like her because she has a very thick and long haired coat. I intend to buy the cream version of this product which I could apply to her face/ chin area, obviously avoiding sensitive areas such as near the mouth and eyes. I've tried a variety of other brands for dogs with itchy skin but I've found this works incredibly well and I will continue to buy it.

It really works!

I started using Dermacton spray, cream and shampoo on my dog 4.5 months ago. I first noticed a small tuft of new fur growing in on his back after 2 weeks using Dermacton. It took 6 weeks before fur started to grow on the base of his tail and after 9 weeks it started to grow on the back of his legs and bum. His black skin has now turned to a light pinky grey and looks very healthy. After 4 months the fur on his back has now fully grown in nice and thick. The top half his tail is bushy and thick but I'm still using Dermacton on his lower tail because there are some spots where fur still needs filling in. The back of his legs has grown in massively but still need's Dermacton to fill in some thin spots. I have also been applying Dermacton to his groin area, which a groomer shaved bald, and it took 3.5 months to start seeing fur growing in on the outer edges and a wee bit of fur growing in the centre. I will persevere until it is all grown in. I was well prepared to be patient and expect the fur growth to take time.
I knew when I started using Dermacton that I had to be patient and I was not going to give up. The fur grew in differently on each part of his body. I was completely prepared for the fur on his tail, back of legs and bum to take many months to grow in.
When I started I applied Dermacton twice a day and bathed my doggie every 3-4 days for 3.5 months. I now apply Dermacton to the thinner spots on his lower tail and back of legs once a day. I apply it twice a day on his groin area. I now bathe him once a week.

IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR MY Dog?

This product is designed for all breeds of dogs over 12 weeks of age with a skin problem. It has been particularly successful for specific breeds renowned for suffering with problems with their skin, including Pomeranians, Bulldogs, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Labrador Retrievers, Poodles, Shar Pei, Terriers, Bichon Frise, Westies.

It is part of our Dermacton range, which also includes a cream and a shampoo. We recommend you choose this product if your dog has problem with any of the below:

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Our Dermacton Spray comes in a bottle with an easy to use trigger spray. The Dermacton Spray is also safe to use on sore or broken skin.

After performing a successful patch test:

Spray a small amount of product onto all affected areas – Ensuring that the product reaches the skin (You may need to part the hair). (If you are covering small areas or areas with little/no hair you could alternatively choose our Dermacton Cream)
Allow to absorb into the skin- While there is no issues if your dog licks the product off, it needs a couple of minutes to soak in to work effectively.
Reapply as necessary – We usually advise 1-3 times a day depending on the issue.

I don’t want to use steroids or drugs on my dogs. Does Dermacton contain steroids or other drugs?

No. Dermacton does not contain steroids or drugs, and only contains high quality natural ingredients. Our Dermacton Range, whilst highly effective, is also very gentle on your dogs skin.

Can the Dermacton be used on broken skin?

Yes, Dermacton is completely safe to use on sore or broken skin. It will soothe and help to promote natural regeneration of healthy skin tissue. If your dog has an actual wound, we would recommend using our Ultrasalve first aid product for the fastest possible results.

Can it be used around the eyes?

Dermacton spray isn’t suitable for using around the eyes, however Dermacton cream has been used successfully around dogs’ eyes, when used with care.

What is in the Dermacton?

Dermacton is a high quality spray free of any petroleum ingredients. Containing a unique & protected blend of over 16 essential oils & herbal extracts each individually selected for their anti-itch & soothing qualities, which works rapidly to soothe damaged, irritated & itchy skin. It is a light, highly nourishing product, which absorbs quickly into your dogs’ skin.

What if my dog tries to lick it off?

Dermacton contains no harmful ingredients, though obviously you need to stop your dog licking as much as possible so that the spray stays on to work effectively. The ingredients in the Dermacton will naturally deter most dogs from licking, however if your dog is a persistent licker it may be useful to apply it prior to them being distracted eg prior to a walk, play or feeding, and rub it well in. As long as it gets a few minutes to soak in, it will start working.

Is the spray better than the cream?

Both the spray and cream contain the same Dermacton formula, and both work as well as each other. Whilst some of it is personal preference, we generally recommend the cream when there is hair loss or thickened skin or for small isolated areas, and the spray when there is more coat or to cover larger areas.

What is the shelf life of this product?

The shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date of purchase if stored in a cool place.

Could it irritate my dogs skin?

Dermacton is entirely natural and has been specially developed to be as hypoallergenic as possible even for dogs with sensitive skin. However, although rare, it is possible occasionally for a dog to be sensitive to even natural ingredients, therefore we always recommend performing a double patch test prior to first use. Patch test information is sent out with every order.
